I'm traveling with my dog Jack from Charleston SC, to Rice Lake Wisconsin, 25 July. (Note: The dropdown menu did not offer Rice Lake, so I had to put Mpls) Will go through Lexington and Chicago. I'll be returning 27 July. I offer gas and tolls, but will accept anything you'd like to donate if you feel obliged. Meals and coffee are dutch.

Me: Pretty easygoing history major and cabinet maker. Old guy. No topic is out of bounds for reasonable discussion. Quiet is ok, too. My Ipod spans Bread to Metallica and Ahmad Jamal to Tito Puentes. Non smoker.

You: Will agree not to smoke in the car, will avoid ingesting large amounts of garlic before the trip, will kindly bathe, and if you are feeling bilious, will carry a small canister of air freshener. If you like to win arguments, I will let you, and immerse myself in my own thoughts for the duration.

This is a whirlwind trip, so I'm not planning to stop much. I will stop to let Jack, a 95 lb lab, out to play here and there. But he will suffer just like we will. You will get the front seat or drive - if you choose to lie down in the back of my wagon, you will have to deal with sharing space with Jack.

If you would like to join me for all or part of this trip, I would welcome another shoulder to the wheel.
