The Montana Folk Festival is an annual, multi-stage outdoor celebration of traditional and folk music, dance, crafts and regional cultures that takes over the streets and public spaces of Uptown Butte. Presented by Mainstreet Uptown Butte with the artistic program curated by the National Council for the Traditional Arts, the festival runs across multiple outdoor stages and folklife areas and includes family programming and markets showcasing national, regional and Indigenous artists. It is notable as a legacy festival that followed the National Folk Festival’s residency in Butte and for regularly drawing very large regional audiences.
